Safeguarding the future of the river Usk.
Reminder: Welsh Assembly Government consultation
We are now coming near the end of the consultation period set by the Welsh Assembly Government regarding Access.
How would this affect you? If you had a planned fishing trip on any river in Wales you could be faced with the situation of endless canoes and white water rafters passing in front of you. All they need is an access point on the river above you and an egress point below you. The fact that you may own or rent the water is immaterial, simply because by law they will have the right to access; therefore, they will NOT be trespassing. The rights of the canoeists/rafters will inevitably override other people’s rights.
The consultation document is available from https://consultations.gov.wales/consultations/taking-forward-wales-sustainable-management-natural-resources?dm_i=3XSU,8V9U,33A0K1,VZM2,1. The deadline for sending in your response to the consultation document is 30 September 2017.
If you wish to gain ideas regarding how to complete some of the sections do go to http://anglingtrust-news.net/3XSU-8V9U-F533A0K1A5/cr.aspx.
The more people who complete the consultation document the better!
Please note: in addition to the Welsh Government consultation document the Countryside Alliance (CA) has produced a a short letter of response to the consultation, which we would like you to send to the Welsh Government if you agree with the CA concerns. If you have yet to sign the document produced by the Countryside Alliance, please do so now. The link is http://www.countryside-alliance.org/openaccess/
