Rod and Line Poaching Incidents on the Lower Usk

The matter has been reported to EA(W). A farmer chased a group off the Gwent water below Usk but by then they had already taken some fresh fish on spinners. Chris Brain (Usk Town Water) is aware and Brain Williams (retired policeman and head keeper at Lower Llangybi) is monitoring events as well. It has subsequently become apparent that the vehicle allegedly used by the gang has also seen at Chainbridge and parked in the gateway at Pant-y-Goitre.

The vehicle is a blue, a Ford Escort and the registration number is belived to be Y495 LET. Please keep an eye out for it further upstream. I am sure this the vehicle seen near the ‘Salmon Leaps’ and the ‘Five Ways’ on the River Grwynne at Llangenny in recent years and was also seen parked near Llanwenarth Church when poaching incidents were occurring on the middle river last summer.
